Lymphedema is the build up of protein rich fluid in the tissues. It occurs when there is a dysfunction of the lymphatic system which works to filter fluid out of the body. This can be caused by cancer treatments, vein dysfunction, damage to the lymphatic system during surgeries, or build up of toxins and viral/cell debris following an illness or injury. 

Right Coast Rehab offers a range of manual therapies including manual lymphatic drainage, soft tissue manipulation, myofascial release, cupping, and percussion to mobilize lymph congestion and assist with filtering fluid out of the body using a gentle massage technique.

Lauren Hurd, MSOTR/L has a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy and is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist with experience treating patients with acute and chronic swelling conditions caused by Lymphedema, Chronic Venous Insufficiency, Orthopedic Surgeries, Post Plastic Surgery, and Post Viral Conditions or Injuries.
